I am very new to this forum and have been spending some time here just over the past few weeks. I am trying to learn the ropes of this EB green card system. As someone pointed, I belong to those on the "fence" not knowing what or how to be effective with my time and money in these efforts. I like this thread and I think I want to begin my involvement through this effort.
My opinion is that we don't need a 1000 people to contribute to reach $100000 for the effort. Those who are willing to give $100 would not, I think, hesitate to give another $100 or even more to speed up the process. I for one will contribute $200 and if necessary more for this effort.

Man-woman-gc just gave a ballpark - 100 is bare minimum, of course more than that is always welcome, i see a 500 dollars too ;-)

Just wanted to give you an update on my FP notice. Finally I got FP notice today schedule for 01/29/08. I guess Infopass appointment works. I had infopass appointment on 21st of Dec 2007 and IO told me I should expect FP within 3 weeks . I guess USCIS has started working after a long break. Hang on guys.

I work for a Fortune 100 company and they have recently denied my request to convert my application to EB2 because its very hard to complete the recruitment and also they are afraid of an audit.
If there are options outside I wouldn't even think for a second, but there aren't that many employers willing to deal with the green card mess.

The only way out is to either go back or get together in a group and help IV to move ahead..

I have a unique position. couple of weeks back I was told that have fatal cancer and won't live pass 4-6 months. After recovering from initial shock I am wondering if my wife will be able to continue her american dream or she will have to head home after me.

my attorney recieved receipts today...filed on July 3rd at nebraska center.
Can you tell us what time it reached NSC on July 3rd. Looks like lot of people July 3rd at 9:03 received by R.William are waiting for receipt. Are you one among them?

My husband called USCIS today to check if they have correct address on file and alas they had old address. When we moved after filing for I-485/EAD/AP, we changed the address in Oct and also after we received receipt notices in Jan. We received EAD/AP/Finger printing notices at the present address for all three of us and now they are saying they had old address on my husband's I485 only, great!!!
They were not sure where the card/welcome notice/approval notice were mailed, to my old address or the attorney. Will check with the attorney today, if not what is the procedure as the card will return back. Thanks in advance.

- enter 'Immigration Voice' in the client name
- click 'submit' button
Now you see the amount spent by IV for lobbying in the Senate documents. Please do the total and let me know how much is that amount. I am not "highly skilled" like you, so I can't calculate?
Do you know anyone who spent 1/2 million on lobbying for our issues. Maybe your friends have spent that money.

Its good to see this thread is still active. I just came home after 30 hrs non-stop work due to our product launch. I did go through quickly on all the posts after my post and I really didnt get the point I was looking for. I will respond to each of you tomorrow in one post.
The response I see for any type of campaign in the form of contributions is pathetic, based on the number of people waiting and those who are active. We will go nowhere, but this must change, and we will help.
I will now have to sleep for 5 hrs and then go back.

Hi Guys
My date is not current but I understand the frustration here. However I beleive USCIS is under severe pressure to reduce the backlogs and not waste any numbers this year....so they are trying to exhaust them as and when they can...in that scenaio I guess lower hanging fruits are getting picked.
But on the bright side as I see it as more and more people get their GCs its a smaller line and the officers should be able to get to everyone's file in due course.
I completely believe the system should be FIFO but then don't you think that will be too logical for the USCIS......
Hopefully if they are able to get a lot of people out of the way they should go back to normal processing from October when new numbers are available and the pressure is somewhat less.....
Again above is my theory. I hope everyone gets their green cards soon and the line keeps moving.

What is the "LOWER HANGING BALLS" AND "LOWER HANGING SHIT" means? Why can't these assholes approve all the old cases and then move the dates to 2003 or 2004 or even 2006.
These type of analogy is nothing but a bullshit. USCIS under pressure??? What pressure? Who do they care? Why should they worry? Whole immigration system is a circus(jumbo, gemini circus) playing with our lives and with full of jokers making fun of us.

:(Iam so sorry GKBest. I did ask my attorney's office about who received it and at what time. But they did not provide me any details about it and just said it was received at Nebraska on July 3rd morning. Hope you get your receipts soon.

Additionally , I saw a post about "5 reasons to not contribute" that was a gud one. I will bump that one up ...I am surprised that we cant get a 1000 people to contribute some money..An avg of $50 will get us beyond $50,000 (Obviously we dont need even 1000 people because many will contribute 100 or more) ..There just too many leaches who wait for others to do thier job..
